Information about the PHCT Young Leaders

If you have a child who is passionate about theater and eager to learn the behind the scenes process of planning events - look no further than Port Huron Civic Theatre's new program – Young Leaders!

What is the Young Leaders Council? It’s a brand new program of PHCT for kids ages 12-17 who are interested in the business and development side of community theatre. We're not just creating performers; we're nurturing the future producers, organizers, and leaders of the stage! 

What's in Store? 

Fundraising: Dive into the world of creative fundraising events that not only support our beloved Civic Theatre, but also teach invaluable skills in financial planning and team collaboration.  

Event Planning: Learn the ins and outs of event coordination! From brainstorming to execution, our Young Leaders will first focus on planning and working at events of their own choosing and planning! 

Communication Skills: Sharpen communication skills by interacting with experienced adults, as well as peers!

Organization Skills: From scheduling, coordinating, and making phone calls, our Young Leaders will build skills that will help them in and out of theatre.

We will begin with zoom meetings where they will decide our direction for 2023-2024.  At the same time, our first project will be helping at Port Huron Civic Theatre’s Second Annual Black Tie Gala (tickets are now available for purchase to this great event!). 

The Young Leaders Council will be hard work, however it will be a great opportunity to hone your business skills and work towards planning even bigger projects in the future! Apply to the google form below! Any questions can be directed to Lucy Fabick at: 810-479-1565.
